Event Description: 

Join us as we celebrate 350 years of Chowan County on the Historic 1767 Chowan County Courthouse Green.

Kick-off the day with the 43rd annual Peanut Festival Parade, then interact with 1700s and 1800s military and Civil War reenactors and witness demonstrations of the Chowanoke, Tuscarora, Roanoke-Hatteras/Mattamaskeet, and Meherrin Tribes while Pirates fire black powder guns. The USAF Heritage of America Band Rhythm in Blue Band will close out the afternoon.

Daytime Itinerary:

11:00: Peanut Parade down Broad Street and Peanut Festival at John A. Holmes High School

12:00-3:30: Witness black powder firing demonstrations and displays by reenactors and local Native American tribes and play colonial-era games/activities on the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse green

3:30: United States Air Force Heritage of America Rhythm in Blue Band concert

6:00: Peanut Festival continues at John A. Holmes High School

7:00: Battle of the Bands begins at John A. Holmes High School
