220th Anniversary of James Wilson's Death
Event Description:
Join us as we commemorate the life and death of James Wilson, one of our nation's Founding Fathers and friend to James Iredell. While visiting Iredell in Edenton, Wilson contracted malaria and died of a stroke. His remains stayed in Edenton, buried in the Johnston cemetery on the Hayes Plantation, until 1906. Come for a short lecture on Wilson's life, presented by Research Historian Charles Boyette, and enjoy light refreshments.
