On July 4th 2026, Historic Edenton, NC Celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of America. Be part of Edenton’s History on the Water and join us for the Inaugural “Anything That Floats” Patriotic Costume Parade.
Everyone is invited: Individuals, Families, Clubs, School Groups, Church Groups, Businesses, Community Organizations, etc. Decorate your float. Dress in your most patriotic costume. Gather your crew. Show your spirit.
Parade Route is in the Shallow Waters inside the Breakwater behind Herringbone Restaurant. Whether you arrive in a kayak, paddleboard, raft, canoe, inflatable, or your own wildly creative floating masterpiece — if it floats, it belongs in the parade!
Fun, Friendly Competition, Community Pride, Historic Memories in the Making. Celebrate America’s 250th in unforgettable style and help launch a brand-new Edenton tradition this 4th of July! Make waves. Make memories. Make history.
First place prize is a private chartered cruise aboard the Albemarle Queen for up to 110 Guests. Value $2000.
