Sample flavors from around the region at Taste of Edenton. This annual event is a fundraiser for the Penelope Barker House and welcomes restaurants that want to show off regional fare from as close as historic downtown to as far away as southeastern Virginia. Each year around 20 or so restaurants set up camp on the lawn at the Penelope Barker House and invite members of the community to come taste their goods. The items served vary among restaurants – some might be catered treats like truffles, and others could be the restaurant’s signature specialty like barbecue or mini chicken salad sandwiches. As you munch your way through this one-location food tour, enjoy the music provided by either a DJ or live band and watch the picturesque sunset over Edenton Bay. This event sells out every year, so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance, which can be done online or at the Penelope Barker Welcome Center. Taste of Edenton is an evening event held in late October.
